Caring for your piece
Every material we use asks for something a little different. Find your piece below for simple, lasting care.
Thank you for choosing handcrafted furniture. Each piece is made from solid wood and finished by hand with either Linolie Pigment Satin Wood Oil or Rubio Monocoat to protect the wood while preserving its natural beauty.
Everyday Care
- Dust regularly with a soft, dry microfiber cloth.
- For routine cleaning, wipe with a lightly damp cloth and immediately dry the surface.
- For heavier cleaning, use a mild pH-neutral soap or wood cleaner designed for oiled wood surfaces, then wipe dry. Examples include Rubio Monocoat Surface Care or a small amount of mild dish soap diluted in water.
- Clean spills promptly to prevent moisture from penetrating the wood.
- Use coasters, placemats, and trivets to protect against moisture, heat, and scratches.
- Avoid dragging objects across the surface.
- Never allow standing water to remain on the wood.
Avoid
- Harsh household cleaners
- Abrasive pads or scrubbing sponges
- Bleach, ammonia, or solvent-based products
- Excessive heat from cookware, candles, or heating appliances
- Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight
Long-Term Care
Wood is a natural material and will continue to respond to its environment. Minor movement, color changes, and the development of a rich patina over time are normal and expected.
To help preserve your furniture:
- Maintain indoor humidity between 35% and 55% when possible.
- Keep furniture away from radiators, heating vents, wood stoves, and air conditioning outlets.
- Rotate decorative objects occasionally to allow the wood to age evenly.
- Inspect high-use surfaces periodically for signs of wear.
Refreshing the Finish
Both Linolie and Rubio Monocoat finishes can be renewed without stripping the wood.

Natural Characteristics
Every piece of wood is unique. Variations in grain, color, knots, mineral streaks, and figure are natural characteristics that make each piece one of a kind.
With proper care, your furniture is designed to last for generations and become more beautiful with age.
