Julius Short Shelf

Description

The Julius Short Shelf is handcrafted in the USA from solid walnut or ash, offering a compact and versatile storage solution for modern living. Standing 23 inches high, its clean lines and softly rounded corners create a sculptural presence that feels both functional and refined.

Designed to display books, treasured objects, and everyday essentials, the open shelving provides generous storage while maintaining a light and airy appearance. Its modest scale allows it to work beautifully beside a lounge chair, next to a bed, beneath a window, in an entryway, or as a standalone accent piece.

Available in the three sizes. Each shelf is finished by hand with a satin wood oil that enhances the natural beauty of the wood grain while providing lasting protection. Thoughtfully crafted from solid hardwood, the Julius Short Shelf is designed to age gracefully and become a lasting part of the spaces it inhabits.

The Namesake

The Julius Short Shelf is named after Julius, a young West Highland White Terrier with a talent for finding trouble. As the fourth Westie in the family, he inherited more than a name—he inherited a collection of memories. The prototype for the Julius Short Shelf serves as a shrine of sorts, displaying photos and treasured keepsakes from the Westies who came before him. Julius, however, has other ideas. Known for helping himself to a trinket or two, he occasionally relocates these treasures to a secret hiding place or turns them into his next chew toy. While his predecessors earned their place on the shelf, Julius earned his by keeping everyone on their toes. He may still be young, but he already has a shelf named after him.
