Cornelius Corner Shelf
Description

The Cornelius Corner Shelf is a handcrafted shelving piece designed to make thoughtful use of often-overlooked spaces. Standing just 24 inches high, it tucks neatly into a corner, providing display and storage without overwhelming a room.

Crafted in the USA from solid walnut or ash, the shelf's softly rounded edges and sculptural form bring warmth and character to bedrooms, living spaces, offices, and reading nooks alike. Each piece is finished by hand with a satin wood oil that enhances the natural beauty of the grain while providing lasting protection.

Available in three sizes, the Cornelius Corner Shelf is compact in height yet generous in display space, offering a beautiful home for books, collected objects, plants, and everyday treasures. Designed to age gracefully, it is a timeless piece that celebrates craftsmanship, natural materials, and intentional living.

The Namesake

The Cornelius Corner Shelf is named after Cornelius, a handsome Bernese Mountain Dog known for his impressive size, legendary "welcome home" enthusiasm, and love of almost every kind of food. Shrimp was the one exception—unless it came with a generous helping of cocktail sauce. Cornelius loved cocktail sauce. The connection is simple: Cornelius begins with "corn," and so does corner. It felt like fate. While Cornelius may have taken up considerably more space in the center of the room, both the shelf and the dog have a way of making a room feel warmer, friendlier, and more complete. If you ask us, the name was simply meant to be.
